The Passionate Shopper
Style maven Marion von Alderstein approached us to art direct and illustrate her personal book project, The Passionate Shopper. We drew inspiration from Marion’s collection of curios, with each illustration an interpretation of one of her possessions.
The book sold out within weeks of its launch (now in its second edition), and was nominated for Best Design of a non-fiction book at the Australian Publishing Awards, 2006.

Witchery S/S10-11
Our Witchery S/S10-11 paper was themed around ‘The Journey’, maintaining the oversized format of the previous A/W10 Witchery paper.
For this particular 'journey', we engaged the reader with travel snippets from a local and global perspective. We created a cohesive campaign that increased customer engagement, devising an online competition to name a favourite Australian hot spot. The prize? A trip for two to Tasmania’s Bay of Fires, one of Anthology’s destinations, achieving a successful cross-pollination of another of our client's offerings to a wider audience.

Witchery A/W09 paper
For their A/W10 campaign, Witchery looked to us for the concept and the creation of an additional communications channel. Our inaugural Witchery paper, ‘Inspired by…’ was the result; a tangible, emotive, 32-page catalogue that increased brand awareness, broadened customer engagement and truly announced the arrival of its newer label, WitcheryMan.

Mark. Magazine
Renowned Australian stylist and current Editor at Large at Australian Harper’s Bazaar, Mark Vassallo looked to us to bring to life his inaugural, eponymous MARK. magazine. The issue became a collectors’ item and went on to win a Finalist award in the ‘magazine art direction & design’ category at the prestigious AGDA awards, 2004.

NEHTA
The National E-Health Transition Authority approached us to breathe new life into their health communications. We designed, art directed and produced comprehensive shoots for a series of magazines entitled Beyond Health, with the finished products demonstrating a clear step away from clichéd healthy lifestyle imagery to a more sophisticated editorial design.

WBJ Magazine
Responsible for the hugely effective Westfield Bondi Junction B2B campaign, one that successfully extended the Westfield brand into the premium market, we were commissioned to design the centre’s WBJ magazine. The resulting cutting-edge issue helped firmly establish Westfield Bondi Junction as a leading fashion and lifestyle destination.

Bill Granger
Bill Granger is an Australian food legend, with restaurants in both Sydney and Japan. His series of cookbooks are extremely popular and reflect his laidback, easy approach to cooking. Simply Bill was designed by us and conveys the sunny mood in a contemporary, pared-back layout.

Vogue, Australia
In 1999, we were commissioned by Australian Vogue to overhaul the ailing magazine with a new design, new look and new direction, commencing with the all-important January 2000 issue that would herald in a new decade. The commission was the first time in the publication’s history that its creative direction was outsourced to an external contributor.

Australian Style
Published by Lachlan Murdoch, Australian Style Magazine was the stylish tome for the early noughties. Our art direction and design was a forerunner in the industry, not unlike the then-unknown actors / models / designers featured in its pages who have since gone on to become household names.
